This crocheted dishcloth holder is such a creative and fun make!

There is one base hanger with various nature motifs sewn together: a mushroom, a leaf, and a daffodil in various difficulties.

The base and mushroom are easy enough for a beginner. The leaf and daffodil are of varying difficulty. Images and charts are provided. As always, I’ve included a mindfulness exercise.

If you find a moment in your creative project, I encourage you to give it a try. It might bring a little more calm into your peaceful stitches.

A simple, mindful project that blends beauty with everyday use, enjoy 🙂

Sensory Grounding

During this project, take a moment to ground yourself. Set a timer for 1–10 minutes and focus on your senses. What do you see, hear, feel, smell, and taste?

Allow yourself to fully experience each sensation. Notice any emotions that arise and simply observe your physical feelings without judgment.

Step 1: Attach to First Ring

Attach yarn to the first ring with a slip knot. Work 10 sc into the ring.

(Adjust stitch count as needed to fit your ring size evenly.) Ch 1, turn.

Step 2: Base of the Dishcloth Holder

Row 1: Sl st in first st, hdc in next st. Repeat across. (Ends with an hdc.) Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Sl st in hdc, hdc in sl st. Repeat across. (Ends with an hdc.) Ch 1, turn.

Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures about 5 inches or long enough to drape over your handle/bar.

Step 3: Attach Second Ring

Place the second ring at the end of your work. Work 10 sc around the ring. (Adjust stitch count if needed to fit the ring evenly.)

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Daffodil Flower Motif

This daffodil is more suited for an intermediate crocheter. You should be comfortable changing the direction of your work. The petals are worked in the back loop only (BLO), allowing the trumpet to be worked into the front loops (FLO) of the same stitches.

Additionally, we will use a picot stitch at the top of each petal to create a pointed effect. I’ve attached pictures to help.

Picot Stitch: Ch 3, then sl st into the first ch.

Base

Make a magic ring (MR).

Round 1: Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch), work 12 Dc into the MR. Join with a Sl St to the first Dc. (12 sts)
